Zakka Style Sewalong Week 5

I liked this week's project, although it looked simple it was very clever (well, not the way I did it in the end but the pattern was clever!)

I made it for one of my pairs of scissors in the end as I have too many pencil cases already.

Last weeks sewalong projects:

Been posting my links in the wrong places, oops. Here goes for last week's sewalong:

This was the project from two weeks ago, I attached a magnet to the back so now it lives on my sewing machine.

I am loving this sewalong so much! I don't want it to end! So nice to be "forced" to make every project in a book, even the ones that didn't speak to you so much initially.

Liebster Blog award

Marika from the gorgeous live-laugh-love-sew blog sent me a most welcome message early this morning.... telling me she had awarded me and four other bloggers the Liebster Blog award!!

The Liebster award (German for favorite, loveliest) is for bloggers with 200 followers of less. As a recipient of the award, you have the chance to thank and link back to the blogger who gave it to you as well as pass it along to five other deserving blogs.

The Liebster Conventions says that :
1. Thank your award presenter on your blogblog and link back to him/her (done!)
 2.  Copy and paste the award to your blog (done too!)
3. Present the Liebster Award to 5 blogs that you think deserve to be recognized (just thinking about that one.... done!)
4. Let them know by leaving a comment on their blog (will do that right after I push the publish button)
5. Have faith that your follower will spread the love too ! (I am sure you will!)
It has been incredibly difficult just picking five as I love so many blogs and get so much inspiration from them (but making it easier most of them have tons of followers so automatically cannot win) but here goes:

Zakka Style sewalong; week 2 The house pouch

Last night I sat down to try and catch up with Zakka Style Sew-along hosted by 24 fantastic bloggers - see post below.

I completely missed out on week 1, but as I already have too many bags (yes it IS possible to have too many bags!) I wasn't too miffed.

So here is my little house pouch! I loved making it although wonder how useful it will be withe small zip on top. Saying that I now no longer keep my make up in the hideous came-free-on-a-flight beige (BEIGE!!) washbag so I guess it is already useful. And SO pretty!

I have actually already made next week's too as I was on a roll but I will reveal that on Monday.

Have a lovely weekend all!

Pinterest Challenge

Coming to this possibly a bit late in the day (some two months after it started) I nonetheless love this so much I am joining in.

"This" is Pinterest Challenge. You know all those gorgeous things you pin up on your boards? Every month you pick one, just one, to make. And then you post your make on your blog and link it back to the original gals who started the challenge. Simple? Yes. Effective? Oh yes. Fun? Oodles of.

The first Monday of the month is when you post your make up on this blog mylovebumps and then you can sit back and enjoy what everybody else has made. So far more than 50 ladies (presume you are all ladies, sorry to any lovely men taking part!) have signed up.

Join us?

I just bought this book last week and it is ADORABLE so I am excited to have found this Zakka Style Sew-ALong.
A group of 24 bloggers, led by Lindsey of LRstitched and Amy of Sukie, will be making every project from Rashida Coleman-Hales' book Zakka Style

Hand turned wooden pin cushions

For a little while now I have had these stunning pin cushions on sale in a couple of shops. They are made by a lovely man based in Tunbridge, who has taught himself the (almost) lost art of Tunbridge wood turning.

I am so in list with them I can barely bear to part with them but I have myself reached critical mass with them now (I have three!) so I am now making a special effort to clear out the last few ones we have on the shelves so Paul can get on with making new ones, as well as the lush wooden boxes he also makes.

So for one week (until 9th April) only these will be for sale in my Etsy shop at half their normal price. They come in 3 different sizes and a few different colours (navy, royal, red and peach). Not all colours are available in all sizes, if in doubt leave me a comment and I can double check the one you have is in stock still).

My Etsy shop can be found here
